Cooking is a skill that everyone needs, and once you learn the basics there is no end to what you will be able to prepare! This class will introduce youth to the basics of food preparation: using measuring cups, kitchen safety, cooking terms, planning nutritious meals, and high altitude modifications (which is especially helpful for us!). Each week we will focus on a different skill: healthy and delicious snacks (week 1), main courses and side dishes (week 2) and desserts (week 3)
The focus of this class is to familiarize children with the martial arts that we teach, while helping them to build a strong foundation for them to work from should they choose to pursue martial arts into adulthood. Students will learn basic techniques, and the fundamentals of self-defense. Additionally, we teach about common dangers or threats such as dealing with strangers or what to do if one were to get lost. We keep our students engaged by incorporating games and other fun activities into our training.
Fight Cabin Fever! BV REC is partnering with some local parents who want to release their children to play during the long winter days! Come join us- kids can play and parents can interact. We will meet twice a month, so mark these days on the calendar so you and your kiddos can attend!
Women's Cardio Kickboxing
This is a strength and conditioning class for women, with the primary goal being that of fitness. You will learn proper striking techniques which will allow you to employ your hands, feet, knees, and elbows into various striking combinations which when paired with calisthenics will result in a fun, exhausting, and rewarding workout.
