The Colorado Main Street program is intended to revitalize traditional downtown districts within the context of historic preservation. The program uses an approach that advocates a return to community self-reliance and local empowerment, while encouraging the revitalization of central business districts based on their traditional assets of unique architecture, personal service, local ownership, and a sense of community. Buena Vista was named a Main Street Candidate community in 2014.
Vision Statement: Main Street Buena Vista is where people live, eat, shop, work and play. We create a year-round appeal to families, outdoor enthusiasts and entrepreneurs with our beautiful views, vibrant community, rich history and diverse economic opportunities.
Main Street Buena Vista is the vibrant center of community activity. Residents and visitors enjoy year-round opportunities for unique retail experiences, exceptional events, safe and comfortable gathering spots, a convenient starting point for recreational activities, and businesses experience a broadened economic base. The Buena Vista Main Street program leadership will leverage our historic infrastructure and sustained community support to ensure our efforts remain relevant, transparent, accountable and valued.
