Pre-application Meeting

These meetings are generally scheduled two weeks out. Please come by Town Hall or call the Planning Technician at 719-395-8643 ext 12 to schedule a time.

Organizational Authorization

If you are submitting a development application on behalf of an organization, you must fill out this form affirming your right to do so.

Property Owner Authorization

If you are submitting a development application for property you do not own, you and the owner must fill out, sign, and return this form to the Town.

Annexation Application Request for adjustment of town limits boundary.

Change of Use Application Request for approval to establish a new use in a building which you own or rent.
Encroachment Application Request to build any structure (including a fence, awning, or sign) on, above, or below a public right-of-way or a town-owned easement.
Fence Application Request for approval of a fence. Fences taller than 6' also require a building permit.  
Floodplain Development Application Required for any project located in the floodplain.  
Home Occupation Request for approval of a business run out of a home.  
PUD Application Request for approval of a Planned Unit Development.  
Shed Application Request for approval of a shed. Sheds larger than 200 sq. ft. also require a building permit.  
Sign Application Request for approval of new signs or of significant alterations to existing signs. timeline
Sign Change Application Request to reface an already existing sign.  
Special Use Application Request to use a property for a purpose not otherwise allowed in its zone district. timeline
Subdivision Exemption Application Request for adjustment / elimination of lot lines or a duplex conversion.
Subdivision Application Request for approval of a subdivision. timeline

Temporary Use / Structure Application Request to use a property on a temporary basis for a purpose not otherwise allowed in its zone district. timeline
Vacation Application Request to vacate a right-of-way (ROW) or an easement.  
Vacation Rental Application Request to utilize a dwelling (not owner-occupied) for short-term rental purposes.  
Variance Application Request to allow an exception to existing land use regulations. timeline
Zone Change Application Request for zoning change.  
* Many development applications require public hearings before the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Board of Trustees, or both. Timelines are included here to give applicants an idea of how long the entire process will take, from the date of submittal to final consideration of their application.
