BUENA VISTA PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW Signalized Intersection at US 24 & Crossman Ave

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Technology Constructors Incorporated (TCI) will begin construction on Monday, November 20th for the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of US Highway 24 and Crossman Avenue. The work will take approximately 4 to 5 weeks. Completion date is weather dependent.

Based on increased traffic volumes and the intersection being located in the busy business corridor of Buena Vista, the City and CDOT have recommended the installation of a traffic signal to improve the safety and efficiency for all users. This includes multi-modal improvements for motor vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians, plus better access for persons with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

  • Work on US Highway 24 is scheduled to begin Monday, November 20th.
  • Normal working hours will be from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday thru Friday. In special cases these hours may be extended.
  • Weekend work also may occur if a need is determined and agreed upon.

  • All pedestrians and motorized vehicles should expect travel impacts throughout the construction project.
  • Detailed information will be disseminated on a weekly basis and updated when more significant impacts are expected.
