Controlled burns information for the Town of Buena Vista

1. Burn time prior to May 1 is from sunrise to 2pm. After May 1, burn time is from sunrise to 12pm.

2. Fire cannot be left unattended. Responsible party has to be with it at all times and water should be available to
    extinguish the fire.

3. Notify Chaffee County Dispatch so they can record the information and in case they receive calls reporting smoke.

Chaffee County has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Notification System - an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the County in case of an emergency that requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child, or evacuation notices).

The system is capable of dialing 50,000 phone numbers per hour. It then delivers our recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number. Still have questions? Click here to view Frequently Asked Questions.
