We have worked at continuing to provide a wide variety of programs for everyone to enjoy. Help us keep these programs running without cancellation by pre-registering. We have given specific registration deadlines for nearly every program so if you want to join one, make sure you do so before the deadline........Sometimes waiting too long will cause some programs to be canceled.

RECREATION HIGHLIGHTS

Show your loved ones how much they mean to you by purchasing a special Singing Valentine from the Buena Vista Voices Children’s Chorus. On Valentine’s Day, BVVCC will sing a song of your choice from a list of selected songs and deliver via telephone to help raise funds for this wonderful program that teaches young kids about music, singing, and performing. Drop in to one of BV Recreation’s continuous programs for a great new experience in fitness, art, and fun. We offer Adult Volleyball, Tae-kwon-do, Zumba, Play Group, PiYo, Monday Morning Art Group, and Women’s Weight Training throughout the year.
Adult Drop-In Volleyball is Sunday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Buena Vista High School P.E. Complex. The cost is $2 per person each night and participants must be 18 years or older.
Tae-kwon-do teaches participants the basics of the martial art as well as self-discipline and self-defense. Tiny Tigers is for children 5 to 7 years old, and Mixed class is for everyone 8 and over. The cost varies from $20 to $35 per month, depending on belt level. Classes meet at the Buena Vista community center Mondays 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for Tiny Tigers and 5:30 to 7 p.m. for Mixed class.
Zumba is one of the newest dance/workout classes sweeping the nation. Participants dance their way to a fitter, healthier body. Zumba meets Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Buena Vista community center. The fee is $4 per session with a punch pass available.
Join Play Group most Wednesday’s at the Buena Vista community center. Play Group is for parents and children to socialize, practice sharing, run off energy and to have fun. The cost is just $1 and meets from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. We do not meet the first Wednesday of each month due to Municipal Court.
PiYo is a class which combines two great exercises, pilates and yoga. This gives each participant an intense workout through pilates but also a relaxing and core conditioning workout through yoga. Instructor Debbie Gaulter will help you clear your mind for the stresses of the rest of your day. PiYo meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Buena Vista community center and is $4 per session with a punch pass now available, buy 5 classes get 1 free.
Monday Morning Art Group allows anyone interested a quiet, bright work area to share ideas with other artists in our community. This group meets Monday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon at the Buena Vista community center in the Aspen Room. The fee is just $1.
Women’s Weight Lifting gives women an opportunity to get a good strength training workout with instructor Lynn Nicks. The fee is just $1 per night at the Buena Vista Hight School weight room in the P.E. Complex. Women’s Weight Lifting currently meets Monday through Thursday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
February 11 from 2 to 3:15 Kraft Kids will be making a Valentine’s Day craft. The fee is $6 per child and children should be 6 years or older, unless a parent is making the craft with children under 6 years old. This class is held at the Buena Vista community center in the Pinon Room.

The Buena Vista Pump Track has opened!
Located at the corner of East Main and South Main Streets, across from the Community Center, the Pump Track was constructed by volunteers using donated materials. The Pump Track is open to the public from dawn to dusk, weather permitting, to bicyclists of all ages. Helmets are recommended; no motor vehicles allowed. Stay tuned for construction of Phase 2 to follow very soon.
