The Town of Buena Vista Planning Department is hiring for the following position:

  • Full-time/year-round Planning Director
    • Job Summary: Provides direction, leadership, and general oversight of the Town’s planning and development functions, understanding that Buena Vista is its own unique community, with its own disparate social and political dynamics. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the development activities of the Town to ensure the orderly development, economic health, and community vitality of the Town and maintain alignment with citizen values and with the Collective Vision Statement. Serves as a member of the Town’s management team. Performs a variety of supervisory, technical, and administrative tasks such as planning, budgeting, coordinating, and directing overall operations within the Planning Department.
    • Wage Range: $65,456 - $90,584 annually

The Town of Buena Vista Recreation Department is hiring for the following Part-Time, Summer Seasonal position:

  • Softball Umpire 
    • Job Summary: Under the direction of a Recreation Program Coordinator, Softball Umpires will officiate and facilitate softball games for the Girls, Coed and Men’s Softball Leagues. Umpires will be required to learn and apply the rules of the game properly, and maintain good communication with other umpires, captains, players, and league administration. Games will be officiated by one or two umpires, at the discretion of a Recreation Program Coordinator. Scheduling will be flexible to work around playing in the leagues or other conflicts. Training to be held the week of May 29.
    • Wage Range: $33.00 - $35.00/hour for 1-man, $28.00-$30.00/hour for 2-man
    • Days & Hours: June 5 – August 18, Mondays – Fridays as scheduled, 5:30-10:00 pm, approximately 8-12 hours/week

The Town of Buena Vista Public Works Department is hiring for the following position:

  • Full-time/year-round Civil Engineer
    • General Statement of Duties: The Civil Engineer will perform development reviews of town infrastructure, residential, and commercial development projects. This person will perform a variety of technical reviews and engineering tasks related to streets, transportation, storm water drainage and water issues. This person will also serve as project manager for specific Town projects.
    • Wage Range: $64,204 - $97,313 annually
