The Town of Buena Vista is hiring for the following position:

  • Part-time/year-round Special Projects & Communications Manager
    • Job Summary: The Special Projects & Communications Manager is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of specific Town projects. The Special Projects & Communications Manager works with the Town Administrator to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Town projects are diverse and require knowledge of the Town Vision and Strategic Outcomes, Town Comprehensive Plan, planning, water rights and infrastructure, and general construction. Contributes at a high level regarding the economic health, and community vitality of the Town and maintains alignment with citizen values and with the Collective Vision Statement. Serves as the Town’s ADA Coordinator, as a member of the Town’s management team, and oversees and maintains the Town’s community engagement platform. The Special Projects & Communications Manager also supports the Town Administrator by serving as a liaison to partner agencies including but not limited to Chaffee County, City of Salida, Town of Poncha Springs, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Colorado Department of Corrections, Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District, State and Federal agencies and Colorado Municipal League as directed.
    • Wage Range: $30.87 - $46.78 per hour.

The Town of Buena Vista Police Department is hiring for the following position:

  • Part-time/year-round Code Enforcement Officer
    • Job Summary: The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for the performance of the duties of a non-sworn enforcement officer, as designated by the command staff under the Chief of Police. This position is responsible for enforcing laws and town code/ordinances set forth by the Town of Buena Vista. Work involves prevention, detection, and investigation of code violations, domestic animal issues, security and safety of the community, protection of the public, and maintaining oversight of parking enforcement.
    • Wage Range: $19.16 - $28.94 per hour. Starting wage $23.50 per hour.

Requirements

Pay and Benefits
Beginning salary range for a full-time police officer is $65,042 - $71,698 depending on experience. The Town of Buena Vista offers a comprehensive benefit package for the police officer position (retirement and medical, with additional options for dental and vision).

The Town of Buena Vista Recreation Department is hiring the following Part-Time, Spring Seasonal positions:

  • Youth Soccer Practice Facilitator
    • Job Summary: The Youth Soccer Practice Facilitator will lead the practices for our U6, U8, U10 and/or U12 teams. Duties will include, but are not limited to, creating lesson plans for each practice, executing those lesson plans during practice with the assistance of the parent volunteer coaches, demonstrating proper soccer techniques and skills, and leading parent volunteer coaches.
    • Wage Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. 
    • Days & Hours: March 18 - May 11, Mondays – Fridays as scheduled, 3:45-6:45pm, approximately 5-15 hours/week, including planning time
  • Youth Soccer Practice Assistant
    • Job Summary: The Youth Soccer Practice Assistant will help the Youth Soccer Practice Facilitator lead the practices for our U6, U8, U10 and/or U12 teams. Duties will include, but are not limited to, helping execute the lesson plans during practice with the assistance of the parent volunteer coaches, demonstrating proper soccer techniques and skills, and leading parent volunteer coaches.
    • Wage Range: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour. 
    • Days & Hours: March 18 - May 11, Mondays – Fridays as scheduled, 3:45-6:45pm, approximately 5-15 hours/week, including planning time
