Planning Technician Position Available
Buena Vista is a small mountain town nestled in a valley between the beautiful Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas River known as the Upper Arkansas Valley. It is a growing town and offers a wide array of recreational opportunities for all ages.
The Town of Buena Vista welcomes your application for the Planning Technician position. The purpose of this full-time position is to provide technical support to the Town’s planning and development review efforts to ensure high quality development in our community. The position assists with information requests on development; is responsible for reviewing permit applications for compliance with zoning standards including building, sign, accessory structure, and fence permits; conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and permits issued; maintaining a variety of data bases including property and permit information; and assists with Planning Commission meetings. The position plays a key role in permit reviews and facilitating communication between the Town, its departments, consultants, builders and the public regarding both commercial and residential development inside town limits.
While experience related to construction, architecture, GIS, and engineering related fields is preferred, it is not required. We are looking for a competent, caring, and compassionate person to become the initial point of contact for builders, business owners, and residents alike. This person must possess the ability to clearly communicate technical information to the layperson in an effective and easily understood manner. A high school degree or GED is required, along with a valid Colorado driver’s license.
We are seeking someone with office experience and the ability to be organized, detail-oriented, and able to see the big picture when communicating with a variety of people interested in the development of our rural community. Town of Buena Vista Municipal Court Judge - Request for Proposals
The Town of Buena Vista is accepting proposals from qualified individuals to provide Municipal Court Judge services to the Town. To qualify, an applicant should have a demonstrated capability to carry out municipal court judge services in a comprehensive, timely, and efficient manner, along with significant experience in matters addressed by municipal courts. The Town is a statutory municipality and our municipal court is a court of record.
