Update on COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

September 1, 2021

 

Masks are strongly encrouaged in all indoor spaces utilized for the conduct of Town business regardless of an individual's vaccination status.
 
Staff are required to wear a mask for all indoor interactions with the public.
 
Staff do not have to wear masks when working in individual offices or in indoor spaces where a minimum of 6 feet distancing from other staff can be maintained.

Chaffee County COVID Code of Conduct:
 1. Get vaccinated
2.Stay home if sick
3. Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
4. Wash your hands
5. Respect the COVID-19 safety protocols for any individual business or organization
6. Physically distance if unvaccinated
7. Wear a mask indoors and in crowded outdoor places if unvaccinated

Town Hall and the Police Department are open.

The Community Center indoor spaces are closed to the public but private reservations are available for groups under 20 people in the Aspen Room and under 40 people in the Pinon Room with social distancing restricitons.

The public restrooms and shower facilities at the Community Center remain open to the general public. 

The Public Works  (streets/water service/parks) building will remain closed except by appointment (719-395-6898) through at least October 1, 2021.


The public is asked to conduct all other types of business by phone or online.

Water payments will continue to be accepted by mail, by bank draft, in the drop box outside Town Hall, via our automated telephone system (1-833-431-1749; a $1.25 fee applies), and via the Town website (go to https://www.buenavistaco.gov/ and scroll down to “Water Bill Pay”; a $1.25 fee applies).

Board of Trustees Meetings are held at the Community Center, 715 E. Main Street, Buena Vista, and are open to the public. The meeting may also be accessed virtually by the public and participants. The following facilities are OPEN with posted restrictions and guidelines:

  • The Buena Vista Dog Park
  • Pump Track
  • Tennis/Pickleball Courts
  • Skate Park
  • Disc Golf Course
  • Town Trail Systems
  • Splash Park Water Feature
  • Town Fields and General Park Areas
  • Play Structures - Columbine Park, Community Center Park, McPhelemy Park, Millie Crymble Park, Rocks and Ropes Park, South Main Town Square Boulders
  • All Pavilions and Picnic Areas
  • Community Center, Columbine Park, McPhelemy Park, and Splash Park Restrooms
  • Community Center Showers

Buena Vista's in-town open spaces and trails remain open. When outside, remember to always practice physical distancing. Avoid congregating in groups and only recreate with your immediate family or housemates. Expect limited services and bring your own hand sanitizer. Most importantly be safe and have some FUN.
